Are we a good fit?

Is Harvest Hill Photography a good fit for you?
It is very hard to spell out exactly the quality of service you offer in a blog post, but I am still going to give it a shot. I am just going to wing it and jump right in!
These are the things that are important to me:

  1. Safety and that is aways #1! I know that is not a glamorous place to start, but let’s face it, no matter how good the photos are, keeping your little ones safe is my top priority. When looking for a newborn photographer, do not hesitate to ask if they have been through safety training. My answer? Yes I have. I had to take quizzes and everything.
  2. Relaxed clients. I don’t want my clients to stress. A stressed parent leads to a stressed baby, which leads to a stressed photographer. I want to make the process as easy and as transparent as possible. I provide everything needed for the shoot, except the baby.
  3. Worried about traveling with a brand new baby? Well guess what? You don’t have to. I travel to you and bring all the props, outfits, hats etc. This also makes it easier to have nice sleepy baby because we don’t have to worry about he or she napping on the ride over.
  4. Artistic expression. Do you like the work I have posted on my website? This is important. Chances are your pictures will come out similar. As with most artists, I have a specific style that represents me. One of the things I ask my clients is what colors they like. This gives me inspiration for the session while still including each client’s personal taste. I want to be sure I produce a product that not only I love, but that my clients will treasure and hang on their walls.
  5. Individuality. I feel it is important to capture each babies unique personality. I am always buying new props and trying new things to avoid being cookie cutter. Though there is something to be said for tried and true practices, so don’t be surprised if you see similar images.
  6. Emotions. Are you nervous in front of the camera? Don’t be! This is a judgement free zone. Most of my clients just had babies, so they are not feeling great about their bodies. We are not here to capture perfection, we are capturing emotion. I have little tricks to pull this emotion out in my sessions and I promise if you relax, the beauty of these moments will shine through.
Moral of the story is, I am a huge supporter of the “you get what you pay for” modo. Understandably this is an investment, but I will do all I can to make sure you get what you pay for. If you agree with the importance of these things, than we may just be a perfect fit!
